Fort Jackson worker scratches $100,000 lottery ticket

A Fort Jackson food service worker has won $100,000 playing the South Carolina Education Lottery.

“I feel terrific,” he said waiting to collect his prize.

He was shocked at first, but admitted the more time that past the better he felt.

“A load has been lifted off of me,” he said.  “I’m feeling fine.”

As of this release, four top prizes of $100,000 remain in the $5 Pure Gold game.

The odds of winning $100,000 are 1 in 480,000.

The Gaz-Bah store in Columbia, where the ticket was purchased, received a commission of $1,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
