Souper Celebration for the Souper Bowl of Caring | Events

In support of the Souper Bowl of Caring, Judy’s Restaurant in the Corbett Building at the SC State Farmers Market, 3483 Charleston Highway in West Columbia, will feature a Souper Celebration throughout the month of January. The Souper Celebration will culminate at Judy’s on Saturday, February 4th, just in time for the big game on Super Bowl Sunday. It’s all about serving and giving.

Throughout the month of January, for every bowl of soup sold in the restaurant and for every container of soup purchased to take home to enjoy on Super Bowl Sunday, Judy’s will make a contribution to the Souper Bowl of Caring.

Market visitors are also invited to participate by dropping their dimes and dollars in the soup pots that will be situated throughout the Corbett Building for the Souper Bowl of Caring. In addition, collection containers will be available for market visitors to drop off canned goods and other non‐perishable foods. The Souper Bowl of Caring funds and foods will be designated for our own Harvest Hope.

The Souper Bowl of Caring, which began at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia, is now a nationwide effort. In 2011, 15,235 groups participated throughout the country generating over $9.5 million in cash and food items for local charities. 100% of the money collected is given directly to hunger‐relief charities in local communities. Since Souper Bowl of Caring began in 1990, more than $81 million has been collected from participants in all 50 states.

After enjoying Judy’s soup, be sure to visit indoor Certified SC Winter Farmers Market in the Corbett building. For 13 Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through March 31st, visitors can enjoy shopping for locally grown or processed products in the warm and cozy confines of a heated, indoor facility.
