Drill Sgt. School changes commandants

Drill Sgt. School changes commandants

Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Mike McCoy will assume duties as the commandant of the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School from Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Teresa King in a 2 p.m. Change of Responsibility ceremony Thursday at school’s physical training field.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the post theater.

McCoy will be hosting an informal reception in the DSS "Bowen Room" which is located just inside the command wing of the school.

Wells Fargo Stagecoach Arrives to Announce Border to Border Hunger Challenge

On Tuesday, May 22 the South Carolina Food Bank Association (SCFBA) will hold a press event at 10:30 am to announce the Border to Border Hunger Challenge sponsored by Wells Fargo. The event at 10:30 am at 2220 Shop Road in Columbia will announce the $150,000 campaign to reduce childhood and family hunger across our entire state during the summer.

On Saturday, May 19th at 8 pm the Columbia Jaycee’s will host a Blues Traveler concert at the Tin Roof.

Columbia Jaycees to Host a Movie at the Nickelodeon Theater on May 16th

The Columbia Jaycees will be hosting an outing to the Nickelodeon Theatere on Wednesday, May 16th. The theater is located at 937 Main Street in Columbia. They will be seeing the movie “Coriolanus” at 8:00pm. Admission is $7.50 and drink specials at The Nick include buckets (4 bottles) of PBR for $6 or Yeungling for $8. Wine will also be available for purchase.

Columbia Jaycees to host Baseball Game on May 31st

The Columbia Jaycees will host a good old fashioned game of Blowfish baseball at the Capital City Stadium.

Come out and enjoy America's favorite pastime on Thursday, May 31st. The game begins at 7:05pm, but gates open at 6:00pm. Arrive early to take advantage of their "Thirsty Thursday" deals: two for $3 Bud & Bud Light cans and $2 16oz Bud Light drafts.

Tickets are $7, but pair up with a friend and bring at least 2 non-perishable food donations to receive a complimentary ticket with the purchase of one regular priced ticket.
